LANSING - On Sunday, September 29th, the Alzheimer's Association, Michigan Great Lakes Chapter held their 21st Walk to End Alzheimer's in Lansing at Cooley Law School Stadium.
MSU's Sigma Kappa Alpha Tau and company sponsors such as Jackson National Life, AF Group and Blue Cross Blue Shield were in attendance.
A ceremony took place in the afternoon where speakers spoke about how Alzheimer's has effected their lives and how much the event meant to them.
Those who participated in the two-mile walk showed their support by wearing purple and carried colored flowers that represented their reasons for being involved with the Association.
For the Association's Development Manager, Nicole Bebee, the walk was a step closer to their goal of raising $260,000 dollars for research efforts to finding a cure for Alzheimer's. She also looks forward to raising more awareness through support groups, sponsorship and networking with other companies.
Despite cool and rainy weather, Bebee was excited to see many participating and showing their support.
For Alaina Muth and Jennifer Jones, this was their first time participating in the walk to show support for their family.
The next Walk to End Alzheimer's in Lansing will take place on September 27, 2020.
