OKEMOS - On June 3rd, tinkrLAB hosted its Robotics Summer Camp Open House to kids who are interested in Robotics.
The program bases on STEM concept, which stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.
In the open house, tinkrLAB invited Waverly Robotics team to bring their competition robot for kids to play with it.
Kids had hands on experience of operating the robot and parents came to ask questions about what their kids are going to do in the summer.
"It's a time for them (kids) to get excited and actually try something new that maybe they didn't try before. In the all of our camps, the kids are going to come out of that week learning a new thing," said Melissa Allen, the Owner of tinkrLAB.
"We work really diligently to make sure that the kids learn problem solving skills, perseverance and failing is okay," Allen said.
"They are going to leave the camp with entirely new set of skills to get through next year of school," she said.
The program will be led by elementary and middle school teachers.
In the Robotics Summer Camp, kids are going to learn how to build robots, how to write codes and how to program them.
As for students who are not able to either pay full or partial tuition for the summer camps, tinkrLAB are partnering with some businesses to offer scholarships for them.
