UPDATE:
MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - International students arrived to the United States and had the opportunity to go on a shopping tour in Meridian Township and East Lansing before Michigan State University and Lansing Community College started their school year.
They were able to open bank accounts, purchase cellphones and other electronics, clothes and food. They were transported to eight different stops on a chartered bus.
"Our goal is to get the students accumulated with the Lansing and East Lansing area," said Manager of DTN International Ambassador Program, Amanda Rawlinson. "Also to of course show them some of the features that we have in the area that allow them to do things such as shopping and get situated with things like their banking needs."
Meridian Township Economic Development Corporation, Lansing Community College, Michigan State University, DTN Management Company and LEAP all worked together to make this event happen.
