INGHAM COUNTY - Warmer weather is not the only think Ingham County residents have to look forward to this season. As well, new road developments are beginning.
With nearly ten new projects underway in 2017. These include widening intersections, resurfacing existing concrete, re-stripe-ing lanes, bridge replacements and surfacing asphalt at various locations throughout the county.
Some of these project locations include: The intersection of Jolly and Okemos Rd., Holt Rd from Depot St. to US-127, Elm Rd. from 1-96 to Grand River Ave., along Jolly Rd. from Dobie Rd. to Meridian Rd. and on Sherwood Rd. from Zimmer Rd. to Williamston Rd.
Michigan State University Students and Ingham County Residents say these developments will have great impact in resolving on-going traffic issues.
"I drive to a lot of my classes, and I end up having to leave 20 or 30 minutes early due to traffic and a lot of stop lights," MSU student Bree St. Pierre said. "I think it's a good idea, because it would definitely help out a lot of us especially since there are are so many students at MSU who are trying to go to class."
