UPDATE:
MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - HOMTV received three first place honors this year from the Hometown Video Festival held by the Alliance for Community Media. Both HOMTV and CAMTV received high honors including a first place, a second place, six third places and two honorable mentions from the Government Programming Awards Competition held by the National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisers (NATOA).
Because these organizations view programs from across the nation at numerous government and community stations and many of the competing cities have large numbers of staff, it is quite significant for HOMTV to be recognized with such honors.
The recognition of quality programming represents not only a great accomplishment for the station, but for the communities surround Meridian Township that expect such high standards of excellence from the station. Considering a substantial amount of the work at HOMTV is done by student interns, it also represents the standards set bt the students and their educators as well.
HOMTV has received more than 200 awards from organizations like NATOA and the Alliance for Community Media. Producers at the station hope to continue to be recognized for their efforts in broadcast quality in the years to come.
