MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - On June 4th local Meridian residents has dinner and dessert for a good cause. Butter burgers and frozen custard were the popular choices at Culver's during the annual fireworks fundraiser. Faced with the challenge of raising $20,000 for the Fourth of July firework show, Meridian Township is getting help from local businesses.
Dan Wood, assistant manager at Culver's spoke with HOMtv about why he enjoys the fundraiser so much. "Basically we're just going to get the community together, trying to raise some money for the big day. Everyone likes to come out for the show and have a good time."
10% of all sales from 4-8pm on the 4th went to the firework fund. If you missed last week's date, there will be another opportunity on June 25th. Over $7,000 has been raised so far with the help of other businesses in the Meridian area including, Okemos Meijer, Douglas J Salon and Day Spa, Meridian Plumbing Heating Cooling Remodeling, The Hubbard Law Firm PC, Eastside Tax and Accounting, Okemos Animal Hospital and the Ingham County Medical Care Facility and Rehabilitation Center.
