MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - This past Saturday was Meridian Townships' Annual Fall Recycling Event at Nancy Moore Park to make the community more aware and involved in recycling. More than 100 volunteers were there to help collect and organize all of the recycled materials, from cardboard to large appliances.
Volunteer Coordinator, Ellen Dillman, stated that this fall they were recycling metals, electronics, styrofoam packing peanuts, egg cartons, bicycles and bicycle parts, all colors of container glass, and even taking old medicines.
The Township will be holding another recycling event in April, and is always looking for volunteers.
