UPDATE:
MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The recent election proved beneficial for a certain Meridian Township group. The Citizens for a Safer Meridian, an advocate of the Central Fire Station bond on the ballot, worked together to distribute materials and spread awareness throughout the community.
The group knocked on doors, mailed out flyers, created a website, collected donations, and invited many residents to befriend them through facebook.
Their efforts were successful. The Central Fire Station bond passed, earning 56 percent of the votes.
Look forward to the new station by the end of 2014 at the corner of Okemos Road and Central Park Drive.
