UPDATE: EAST LANSING - MSU's Black Alliance hosted an event for Black History Month called Black to Africa. The event took place in Campbell Hall and featured traditional African dance and poetry, as well as a presentation of stepping and a short talk on the origins of current African American music.

The goal of the event was to highlight the similarities between traditional African culture and modern African American traditions. This is the second year the Black Alliance has put on this event, and they hope to keep it a yearly tradition.
