OKEMOS - After being absent from the area for 7 years, Baskin-Robbins hosted their official grand opening today from 12pm to 4pm. The new location is located at 1917 West Grand River, in a plaza off of Marsh Road.
The new location will be serving all of the famous 31 Baskin-Robbins ice cream, custard, sorbets and non-dairy flavors. As a special for their grand opening, customers could enjoy a scoop of ice cream for 31 cents while listening to their favorite music from a live DJ, getting their face painted and spinning a prize wheel for ice cream coupons.
The line was out the door with people waiting to taste their favorite flavors that had been absent from the area for so many years. The customers were happy that the franchisee owners Tom and April English chose Okemos as the location of their Baskin-Robbins store. "I bought this location because the traffic, the people and Okemos is a great place to do business and Meridian Township has great people to work with," says Tom English.
The most popular items sold at the location so far have been their single serve scoops of ice cream with mint chocolate chip and jamocha almond fudge being the best sellers.
