MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - On February 8th, the Meridian Township Parks and Recreation Department held their Annual Basketball Clinic to introduce kindergartners and first graders to the game.

Clinic Coordinator Mike Devlin see's the event as an opportunity for kids to be active while learning the fundamentals of a great sport.

"We just teach the skills of dribbling, shooting, and passing in a fun way," he states.

The camps which are designed for kids to participate and volunteers to give back, is an avenue for young adults through out the Township to get involved.

"The biggest part I really like are a lot of my volunteers have been through this program as kindergartners or 1st graders and now their giving back to their community in working with these kids."
