EAST LANSING - East Lansing High School Senior, Reid Burton, recently committed to play football at Michigan State University next season and his last name is something Spartan football fans are already familiar with. His father is Ron Burton, the defensive line coach for the Spartans, making for an easy transition in Reid’s eyes.

“It’s just an opportunity I couldn’t pass up. I thought about it, the chance to play Big Ten football, stay at home and get a really good education, there really wasn’t that much to think about after that actually so I just made the decision and I’m happy I made it. I’m excited to get to work.”

Spartan football fans can look for Reid in the fullback position this coming season. He says the “Spartan tradition, brotherhood aspect, working hard and winning,” are what he’s looking forward to the most.
