LANSING - "Free, free Palestine" were the words chanted outside of Lansing's Capitol building as protesters took to the sidewalk.
Palestinian flags waved as protesters voiced their opposition to the United States supporting Israel. Signs saying "stop the massacre" and "end the siege of Gaze now" were raised throughout the crowd.
"They're talking about being against the Israeli occupation of Palestine and the killing of innocent, and the American support of this which I am vehemently against," local community member Sharon Diamond said.
During the protest, names of children and family members who were killed were read to the public over a loud speaker.
