UPDATE: MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Grant funding has allowed for road improvements across eight counties in Michigan. The Transportation Economic Development fund has allocated grant money to Ingham County which will be used to resurface part of Marsh Road. The Managing Director of the Ingham County Road Commission, Bill Conklin, understands the importance of these grants in helping keep their roads serviceable and up to date.

"Any funding that we are able to get for major rehabilitation for roads is a good thing. We simply don't have enough in the way of state gas tax funding to find larger projects like the Marsh Road project from Grand River to Tiehart without either federal aid or economic development funds".

475,000 of the 635,000 dollar project will be provided through the grant. Construction will begin on the stretch of Marsh Road between Tiehart and Grand River in 2013. The Road Commission plans to have construction completed the same year.
