Meridian Township Awarded $10,000
for
Public Art

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - A total of seven greater Lansing communities have adopted public art policies since Fall 2012 as a direct result of LEAP’s Public Art for Communities grant program. Meridian Township, the City of St. Johns, and City of DeWitt will join the two pilot communities, City of Mason and DeWitt Township in receiving $10,000 in funding for the placement of art within their downtowns. The three communities will be awarded the funds to commission a sculpture to be placed in the public right-of-way within their communities to enhance a sense of place as well as business development.

The Public Art for Communities press conference will take place today, June 4th at 10:00 a.m. at (Scene) Metrospace in East Lansing where LEAP will present the grants to the communities.
