OKEMOS - The Okemos Chiefs took on the Holt Rams in a snow delayed women's basketball matchup last Saturday evening.
The game was originally scheduled for last Friday but with schools closing and the crude winter wheather hitting the local area pretty hard, the game was rescheduled for Saturday at 5:30 pm at Okemos High School.
Okemos took the lead in the begginning of the game and hung on to it.
Assistant Coach Megan Williams said that she credits the win to a great first half and smart movement with the ball.
“I think our passing was great especially in the first half," Williams said. "I think our distribution from one kid to the other was great. I think our shot selection was awesome.”
Fans seemed to enjoy the match up as all the athletes were high energy throughout the entire game and were not shy about hitting the floor and fighting for the ball.
The game was a hard fought fight for both teams but in the end the Chiefs took the win by ten points.
The final score was 38 to 28.
