MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Technology, it's constantly evolving. For some this progression can be tough to keep up with. The Meridian Township Senior Center, saw this to be true with their members.
Senior Citizens struggle with staying up to date with the latest technology advancements. This is why Meridian Township Senior Center Clerk Courtney Caltrider took it upon herself to facilitate a Tech Tuesday on the first Tuesday of each month.
"A lot of people were asking us questions. They would come up to the counter and ask us questions with their phones," Caltrider said. "And I would always be the first to jump to it."
Caltrider developed this program for members and non-members. The sessions are on a first come, first serve basis. Where seniors can enter the center, and sign up for a 20 minute time slot.
Ron Czachowski is a four year member, who has taken advantage of this program. "What I would tell the Seniors is, take a look at the sign on the front door here, 'We're so glad you are here,' Courtney is welcome to help you in anyway that she can,' he said. "And I think it's a great opportunity for any Senior to try and learn that way."
