LANSING - Education funding has been a hot topic of discussion at both the State and Federal levels. Many Michigan teachers are rallying in support for Governor Gretchen Whitmer's plan to fund schools and urge lawmakers to increase funding for Michigan’s students and public schools. According to a study done by Michigan State University, Michigan ranks last in the nation in school funding growth per year. Others argue that Michigan ranks near the middle nationally in per-pupil funding. We will dive into this topic further on the next episode of Open Line.
