OKEMOS - On April 26, the Meridian Township Board approved the rezoning request for 2260 Jolly Oak Drive.

The request would allow Becky Beauchine Kulka, a merchant of diamonds and fine jewelry here in Meridian Township, to purchase the new building and move her operations to a free-standing building in exchange for the current rented space.

Kulka stated in the previous meeting, "We are eager and hopeful for the new location. It's truly a dream this location is. We have been there for 20 years in the current location, nothing else has really come up that would fit, but this does for us, that amount of added growth and exposure it would allow us to do is just phenomenal."

Members of the Board approved adopting the resolution for rezoning a 1-acre parcel from a professional office to a C2 commercial. The deadline for the project completion is currently set for December of 2022.
