MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The second discussion item during the April 17th Meridian Township Board meeting was rezoning request from Haslett Holding, LLC.
Haslett Holding had previously requested to rezone a 5.03 acre parcel located at 580 Haslett Road from Rural Residential, to Single Family Density. The site is located on the north side of Haslett Road, east of Van Atta Road, and north of the Bird Strawberry subdivision.
The Planning Commission held a public hearing on the rezoning request at its March 12th meeting, and voted 9-0 to recommend approval at the March 26th meeting to Single Family Density.
Mark Kieselbach, Meridian Township Director of Community Planning and Development presented the request to the Board, stating "The zoning currently directly to the north of this is RA, south of it, Bird Strawberry farm, is RAA, a little bit of a larger lot that's a 13,500 square foot lot, and then 90 feet of frontage, and then everything on the north side of Haslett Road and the south side as you go east towards Meridian, is all zoned Rural Residential."
After the discussion, the Township Board shared a consensus to move the request to action during the next scheduled meeting
