UPDATE:
MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Residents in Michigan are fortunate to have multiple farmers' markets available to them during the winter months. Michigan ranks in the top ten in the nation for farmers' markets following a 58% increase since 2010. The city market in downtown Lansing provides local fresh products for residents. Pushing for those local products is a priority at this market is something the Market manager, Joe Lesasusky, thinks is important for the community.
"We are able to supply year round produce and year round other products to the customer in the area. It's a great spot for the community to come and get local products. It is one of the things that my produce vendors really strive for is to buy as much local stuff as they can get"
Various meats, fruits and vegetables are available among other things at the Lansing City Market when it is open Tuesday through Saturday. With a new building and steady business, expect the Lansing City Market to be a main stay in Lansing for a long time.
