HASLETT - Friday, Nov. 3 the Haslett Vikings will take on the East Lansing Trojans for the second round of the MHSAA High School Football Playoffs.
Haslett goes into the matchup with a current record of 8-2 with their only losses to Dewitt and Brandon High School.
East Lansing is coming off of a blowout win against Tecumseh who they beat last weekend 35-7 during the first round of High School Football Playoffs.
"We've had a great week the guys have had a great attitude were very relaxed, this team knows what side of the line they need to be on and to not be tight and to just be ready to go," said Haslett Head Football Coach, Charlie Otlewski.
East Lansing is currently on a seven game win streak, and Haslett has won their last three matchups. The two schools are within four miles of one another but have yet to face each other since a conference change.
"It's exciting to play them the first time we played for 10 years the first time we played East Lansing was in 2001 another playoff game, and they ended up beating us by a field goal at the end. The fact that they're right next door adds a little flavor," said Otlewski.
East Lansing will host the Vikings at home.
"If you are better than someone else tomorrow night then you win, if you're not then you’re not you can add wrinkles but you can't change who you are," he said.
