MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Oct.6 Dewitt would travel to Haslett to compete for the CAAC-Red title. Going into the matchup the Vikings and the Panthers both had one loss, and both teams were looking for a critical win.
Dewitt took control of the game early on. With 1:44 left in the second quarter it would be Noah Koenigsknecht to put the Panthers on the board yet again, and they would lead the Vikings 14-0 at the half.
"Im proud of the kids we've had over the years, who put that streak together. Our goal tonight was to win the league championship. I'm very fortunate to be in a place that has had such good talent it's hard to comprehend sometimes, but we have some great kids," said Dewitt Head Football Coach, Rob Zimmerman.
They would shut the Vikings out, not allowing any points on the board. Dewitt would clinch a playoff birth, and move onto 7-1 for the season.
"Each group of kids is different, that's the most important thing to them is to win the league title. Our tradition helps us," said Zimmerman.
