MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Seniors had the opportunity to attend the "A Matter of Balance Workshop" at the Meridian Senior Center.
The workshop consists of exercises to help improve balance and discussions about the challenges of aging.
It also helps participants to know that they are not alone.
"People all had similar situations that they were having to deal with. And things I thought it only was me. Turned out it was no quite a few people are going through the same, the same issues, the same problems, the same challenges, so it was comforting to know that I'm not alone", said Paula Johnson, a participant in the program.
The goal of the program is to help people live their lives.
"It helps people feel more confident about moving around and living life and doing the things they like to do without being afraid to fall', said Terri Edick, an instructor for "A Matter of Balance".
There are eight sessions of the program and participants can chose to do two sessions a week for four weeks or one session a week for eight weeks.
