ORIGINAL STORY: MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Meridian Township Building Report is now available.

The report compares the first six months of 2015 to 2016 and shows an increase in building permits.

Many local residents in the community are excited about the township's developments.

Resident McClendon Matthews states, "There's new restaurants, bars, and a grocery stores which are all beneficial for the community."

Meridian Township Associate Planner, Peter Menser states, "We are 31 million dollars so far in July and we are 10 million dollars above pace from last year. The big reason for that is the Red Cedar Flats, a mixed use planned unit development, located at Grand River Avenue and Northwind Drive."
