MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - There has been a concept plan submitted by Evergreen Companies for a mixed used project located on the northwest corner of Okemos and Clinton Street. The concept planned will be used on the current MARC building.
The current building would be expanded 3,779 square feet, with additions including an area for dinning, a kitchen, entryway, and deliveries.
"We sold it to a private developer and they are redeveloping that building to become a restaurant called Tavern and Tap," said Associate Planner Peter Menser.
Another project will be done at the old Central Fire Station according to Menser.
"The old Central Fire Station was torn down in November so now its vacant, and they are going to be building an 18 unit apartment building," said Menser.
Some other features of the concept plan includes adding bicycle parking spaces and a covered bicycle parking area, as well as the closing of one existing curb cut on Okemos Road.
