MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Monday afternoon the Township Board held their 2016 Goal Setting Meeting. However, before the Board could move on to 2016 they wanted to summarize what was established in 2015.
Some of the 2015 goals included the Township sustaining and enhancing the environment, public safety, economic prosperity for all residents, constituent communications and neighborhood and eliminate blight.
Other goals focused on providing an unparalleled parks system, providing exemplary public services and facilities, outstanding recreational and cultural programs and promoting and enhancing diversity across the Township.
There was a lot of back and forth between the members throughout the meeting discussing whether they should go through the 2015 Summary Review with a fine toothed comb seeing what was and wasn't accomplished rather than diving straight into the 2016 Draft Goals.
After brief discussions, the Board's final consensus was to have Township Manager, Frank Walsh provide a more detailed document. The document would preferably have subheadings about the 2015 goals also adding 'on going' next to certain goals to be more organized. The board will go over these during their December 8th meeting.
