HASLETT - The Haslett Beautification Association celebrates their 10th Anniversary by giving back to the community with a new welcome sign.
The new sign will go on the vacant lot off Marsh Road and Lake Drive.
Terri Banas, President of the Haslett Beautification Association, says the new sign will be made by the same woodcrafting company who made the existing welcome sign that sits off Haslett Road (just west of Marsh Road).
"We thought that would be a nice place to create a statement that you've arrived someplace, that you're entering a community. This is a community people care about and a community where people live and work. It seemed like a natural spot for what we wanted to do," said Banas.
The new sign will cost a total of $4,100. Some of the funding will come from the Haslett Beautification Association, however, Banas says they'll still need to rely on the community for help. Anyone who would like to help can mail their donation to the Haslett Beautification Association at P.O. Box 22, Haslett, Michigan 48840.
Banas says their goal is to have the new sign up by next spring.
