MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Meridian Township is booming with new businesses. Chick-fil-A, Whole Foods and Jimmy Johns are a few coming to the Township. Meridian Mall is just one of many locations new businesses call home in Meridian.
Before their grand opening the first week in November, Stretch Yoga Wear Owner explained why they chose Meridian Mall.
"The fact the Meridian Mall is here, indoor shopping, foot traffic, as opposed to a strip mall outside the mall. I just like the draw coming in here inside shopping away from the elements," said Stretch Yoga Wear Owner, Terry Lorenzen.
What is it that makes Meridian Township so attractive? Associate Planner, Peter Menser explains, "They want to be by Michigan State University, we have a really high educated work force. People spend, you know they have extra money to spend on retail and food items. It's just very attractive demographics wise."
Catering more toward the health of residents, Pure Gym is set to open within the next couple of weeks in the Township.
"We want to help this community and grow this community, we like this community here. We just want to focus on our customers, we want to focus on their progress," said Pure Gym owners Ben and Mindy Medrano.
Pure Gym wants to make their experience more personable to help their customers excel in an intimate setting. Equipment for the gym will come at the end of week.
Discount grocery store, Aldi, is also expected to open their first location in the Township on November 12th. The store is located on Marsh Road across from Culver's.
