EAST LANSING - East Lansing played tough opponents tough all season. Friday night's, 46-0, whomping of Okemos, showed how talented the Trojans truly were.
Led by running back Noah Holbrook, East Lansing scored 39 points before halfway through the third quarter. Holbrook finished his senior season on a high note with four rushing touchdowns on his home field. His performance makes him a nominee for this week's All Access Sports Player of the Week award.
The Trojans end the regular season with a, 5-4, record, just one win shy of a playoff-clinching sixth.
Just a week ago, Okemos managed to get its first win of the season and did so in convincing fashion, 36-7, over Lansing Eastern. That first win just so happened to coincide with head coach Jack Wallace's 200th career victory. In what was a week of celebration, the Chiefs were quickly reminded of the trials this season presented.
After a shocking, 1-8, finish, the celebration is over, and the Chiefs have an offseason of rebuilding ahead.
