MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - On October 24th, Meridian Township families celebrated Halloween during Halloween Adventures at the Harris Nature Center. The annual event included spooky fun for all ages including games, engaging with costumed characters, hayrides and a Halloween fun house.
Harris Nature Center's Coordinator, Kit Rich said, "Another big piece of it is that we want to encourage people to come into nature and to have an experience in nature, and so our Halloween is a little bit different."
During the friendly forest, kids walking in the woods met costumed characters while learning about bees, bats and spiders. At the end of the friendly forest, children picked pumpkins to decorate during arts and crafts in the Halloween fun house.
The pumpkin piƱata was a big hit as kids stood in line to whack the huge candy filled pumpkin twice.
Halloween Adventures is one of many family fun events in Meridian Township leading up to Halloween on October 31.
