EAST LANSING - Michigan State University is among the state's 15 colleges that will increase their tuition.

In state undergrad students at Michigan State University will have a tuition increase of 2.7 percent and graduate students will have about a 4 percent increase.

MSU is one of the few schools that stayed below the states 3.5 percent increase cap. Even though the tuition increase is less than other universities some students are not happy about the decision.

"Its like unnecessary, why do they keep increasing tuition when we already pay over 18 thousand a semester just to go to MSU, I don't think that they should keep increasing it because for one education shouldn't cost," said Michigan State University student La Micah Hughbanks,

MSU will receive incentive funding for setting tuition below the cap. Tuition will be about 300 dollars more than this past year's tuition, for instate undergraduates.
