EAST LANSING - Grassroots to Champions is one of the only camps in the nation that provides coaching from Olympic and internationally known coaches. Competitive figure skaters from all over come to receive week-long training from these coaches.
The training consists on and off the ice. On the ice with jump training, spin training, and choreography. Off the ice with conditioning, harness training, and dance training. They accept up to 140 campers for the week and all ages. The ages averagely are around 10 to 18 but all ages are welcome.
Being an experienced skater is key to attending this camp. Kate McSwain, a choreographer for the camp, says, "there are no other camps like this one, for young skaters to get week long training from such amazing coaches, just nothing like it in the skating world."
