MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - If you plan on heading down Lake Lansing Road between I-69 and Lac Du Mont Road, you may want to reconsider those travel plans.

Lake Lansing Road is currently closed to construction. The project consists of grinding up existing asphalt to construct a wider road grade, then repaving with a new center left turn lane and paved shoulders.

Although the road is closed, construction workers on site are doing their best to allow for thru traffic. On site construction worker Doug Smith insists, “we’re trying our best to maintain two lanes all the time so that the traffic can get through here, some homeowners aren’t very happy but we do our best to make it so they can get by."

The new road will also feature better storm sewers and American’s with Disabilities complaint sidewalk ramp upgrades.

The project should be completed by late September.
