UPDATE:
OKEMOS - Rob Stephenson is a third grade teacher at Hiawatha elementary school in Okemos with dozens of students. He was named Michigan teacher of the year in 2009 and 2010 as well as a finalist for national teacher of the year. Although he teaches every subject, he is well recognized for science. His demonstrations of science experiments are filmed on WKAR. For him, teaching is showing kids interest is the most important thing. He said, "Whether they choose their career or not is relevant to me, I just want them to know that it's okay to have questions and experiment to resolve your curiosity." Besides teaching, Stephenson travels nation wide and gives public speeches to inspire future teachers.
