HASLETT - The first ever Capital City Comic Con led hundreds to Haslett's high school for some old and new school fun.

Guests, business owners and local artists made their way to the convention, coordinated by Melinda Barr.

The two-day convention was highlighted by a star wars panel and demonstrations by Haslett's Robotics Club. The event was thought up and led by Event Coordinator Malinda Barr.

"We have vendors who are three states away and visitors who are coming down from Northern and Eastern Michigan," said Barr. "Everyone's having an incredible time."

Highlights of the even included a Star Wars cosplay panel, magic and chess tournaments and a robotics hands-on experience by the Haslett middle school. Legos and controllers were available for both kids and adults to try and guide the robots through an obstacle course, or build their own with the legos.

The two-day event started with a costume contest, with the audience picking out the winner among the fans. Barr believes if there is demand for it, with luck, the convention will come back next spring.
