LANSING - Michigan residents took to the polls yesterday and one controversial item that was on the ballot was Proposal 1.
Proposal 1 was a tax plan that would create road funding; projected to create $1.25 billion dollars a year as well as $600 million for schools, cities, mass transit and the general state fund.
According to the statewide ballot measure, Proposal 1 failed in all 38 of Michigan's counties and ultimately was not passed yesterday.
As for what's next; Michigan State University's Institute for Public Policy ans Social Research will be hosting a forum to talk Proposal's 1 voter aftermath.
Speakers include those that have work on the campaign, those who supported it and those who opposed it. All will address what the next steps may be in order too get more road funding here in Michigan.
The event will take place at the Anderson House Office Building, 5th Floor Mackinac Room in downtown Lansing from 11:30 am until 1:30 p.m. The forum is free and open to the public, but prior registration is highly advised.
