• Haslett's Luke Sleeper awakens the Vikings bench with this walk-off rip.

HASLETT - Luke Sleeper awoke the stands with a scorching screamer that was misplayed by East Lansing's shortstop to first baseman combo, allowing Senior Trace Woodworth to score from second, placing the Haslett Vikings in the win column on Opening Day, 4-3.

Woodworth reached earlier in the inning off a base knock to left field. He would later advance to second base after a balk from the pitcher.

Down much of the game, Haslett mounted a comeback in the fifth inning with a couple runs to tie it up.

Haslett heads to Holt for an April 16 doubleheader matchup at 4pm.
