MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Local Officials Compensation Committee of Meridian Township held a public hearing on Monday, March 2nd to settle the salaries of elected officials.
A majority voted on the one percent pay increase of Meridian Township elected officials for the 2015-2016 fiscal year. With no public present and no objections from any commissioners, the pay raise was approved three to zero.
"We approved approximately a one percent pay increase for treasurer, supervisor, clerk, and trustees, and a five dollar per meeting increase for the parks commissioners," Amy Holda, Local Officials Compensation Commissioner said.
Most elected positions hadn't received a pay raise in the past five years. Among the elected officials present was Township Treasurer, Julie Brixie.
The Township Board will make a determination at their next meeting.
