EAST LANSING - The young East Lansing Trojans (11-7) showed off a complete team effort in their, 57-42, handling of Okemos (11-8) Friday Feb. 27, snapping the Chiefs' five-game winning streak.
In the first matchup between these teams, the Trojans held the Chiefs to their lowest scoring output of the season at 30 points. Okemos' 42 on Friday is now their second lowest on the year.
East Lansing freshman, 6-foot-8, star Brandon Johns finished his night with a humble double-double of 11 points and 10 boards. His presence was felt at the rim with plenty of contested shots.
Point guard Mikhail Myles led East Lansing in points with 13, as the wealth was spread around in this one. In comparison, Johns and Myles scored all but 9 of the team's points the first time they played Okemos.
East Lansing's roster has the height advantage at every position. In the season series, the Trojans dominated on the boards and in opponent field goal percentage.
The Trojans finish off the regular season hosting Lansing Catholic Central (11-7) on Tuesday at 7pm.
Okemos goes on to play Saint John's (9-9) Thursday night at 7:30pm.
