EAST LANSING - Coming into Saturday (September 20th) the heavy favorite, Sparty does not disappoint.

Up 35-0 early in the second quarter, the day quickly becomes about Michigan State's second stringers.

"The game was in hand at the end of the first half," Michigan State Head Coach Mark Dantonio said.

"We were to able play 63 players in the first half to my understanding, which is very uncommon. [In the] second half [we] played a lot of young players, and usually when you can do that, there is going to be growth.”

The backups keep the pedal pushed full throttle.

“We hold them to the same standard," MSU Safety R.J. Williamson said. "The coaches hold everybody to the same standard, no matter who you are."

“I think we did a good job coming out and keeping that chip on our shoulder in the second half and playing Spartan football.”

Spartan Running Back Delton Williams took full advantage of his extra dosage in playing time.

"When I got back in there in the fourth quarter, I'm like alright it's time to start making people miss," Williams said.

True to his word, Williams proceeded to make all eleven Eagles defenders miss on his way for an 80-yard TD run. Williams finishes the day with three touchdowns and 103 rushing yards on 10 carries.

Eastern turns the ball over six times, and State wins this one in a beat down, 73-14.

MSU takes on Wyoming in a special Homecoming showdown on Saturday, September 27th. Kickoff is at noon.
