HASLETT - Haslett kept busy hosting undefeated Saint Johns on September 12th.
The student section came to play showing flare in attitude and attire, but the boys in blue left something to be desired on the field through the first three quarters.
We pick things up in the fourth with Haslett needing a stop at the goal-line. A valiant effort at the line of scrimmage comes to no avail when Saint Johns Running Back Blake Thelen finally plows in for the score.
Down 28-7 half way through the fourth, the Vikings had shown little ability to move the ball against a stifling Saint Johns D.
It took until the final minutes of play for Haslett to surge in desperation mode.
A 33-yard-bomb from Quarterback Andrew Harris to Wide Receiver Alec Dunckel put the Vikings back on the board after a two quarter drought.
Dunckel doing his best "Megatron" impression led the vikings with seven catches for 162 receiving yards.
Haslett tries for the onside kick, but Saint Johns recovers to wrap this one up 28-13.
Haslett travels to Owosso September 19th in hopes of redemption.
