MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - With a 21-3 record, the Lady Chieftans came into the State Semifinal game against Ladywood knowing that they were one win away from the state title.

If you ever wondered what home field advantage looks like you can take a look at the scoreboard in the picture because the lady Chieftans rolled 15-4 over Ladywood and played in the state final game the following Saturday. They would lose eventually to East Grand Rapids by a score of 11-7.

The Okemos girls might have lost their final game but they will remain winners as there are at least 5 seniors with committed to various schools. Coach went on to say: "We have one Courtney Humphries our defense-men who is going to Finley. Clare Cook and Bailey Elsworth are going to Grand Valley. Amanda Davio is going to Calvin. Katie Johnson our goalie is going to Kalamazoo College. So we got it covered".
