MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Communications Director Deborah Guthrie has been elected as an At-Large Member to the Michigan Chapter Alliance for Community Media (ACM), her term will run from January 2014 to January 2016.
As an At-Large Member of the ACM Michigan Chapter, Guthrie will be a voting member for the board
on Public, Education and Government Access issues. She will also be responsible for keeping members up to date with policy and cable issues.
“I’m overjoyed Deborah is on the board. Her expertise of franchise fees, communications, cable legislation and policy related to video franchising and public rights of way make her an asset to the board,” said Alysha Schlundt-Bodien, president-elect of the Michigan Chapter Alliance for Community.
“I’m excited to see what the next few years bring to Public, Education and Government Access and I’m confident that this board will accomplish great things during this two-year term.”
The Michigan Chapter Alliance for Community Media supports free speech, community outreach and Public, Education and Government Access in Michigan. They promote the importance of supporting PEG stations, local channels, and free speech. They seek fair treatment of community channels by video providers.
