MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - If you like to shop until you drop, you may be excited to hear that the Meridian Mall is making room for yet another new business.
A retail store called H&M submitted a building permit and will be taking over empty space in the mall.
The location of the store will be on the west side of the mall near JCPenney. It will be internal, meaning it will be inside the middle of the mall and not have an external exit.
Peter Menser, Associate Planner of Meridian Township, said,
"I know it's a very popular retailer, kind of modern, trendy and still at a good price point. So I've heard a lot of good feedback, both from people that are excited that their children are excited and also from people of all ages, who like that kind of store. I think they have a little bit of everything."
Right now, they are putting up new drywall and painting everything white to get ready for H&M to take over.
All that is left to do is for H&M to set up their store. They are expected to be set up and ready to open sometime after the new year.
