MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - At the September 10th Township Board meeting, a presentation was given and the Board reviewed the 2014 recommended budget. A public hearing was then held on October 1st. At the October 15th Township Board meeting, the 2014 Recommended Budget was approved 6-0.

The key points from the 2014 Recommended Budget include: legacy costs continue to pose a serious financial challenge, scaled-back Motor Pool expenses, reduction of Township vehicle fleet, and a 1% across-the-board employee increase.

The 2014 Recommended Budget will begin January 1, 2014.
