MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - During the Monday, Oct. 21, Planning Commission meeting, the commission discussed rezoning eight properties on Haslett Road from Professional Office and Commercial to Single Family-High Density Residential.
Residents came out to voice their opinions on the rezoning.
"We're just asking to have the rezoning so we can regain control over some of our property and allow us to make changes to our houses that we need to," said one resident. "Like security, or for maintenance, if you want to have a back porch on it, or a bedroom, or something else on it, increase the property value..."
Following that discussion, the resolution to establish the development of Meridian Mall passed unanimously.
Make sure you tune into the next Planning Commission meeting on Nov. 18, where there will be a public hearing for the Whole Foods Market and possible plasma center.
