• The Baily Green House provides fresh herbs and vegetables for the MSU dining halls

UPDATE: EAST LANSING - MSU freshmen Katie Grantham has been working to create a bee keeping program for her school. The bees, that would live on the roof of Bailey Hall, would help pollinate the plants and flowers at the Bailey Green House and other places on campus.

This is all part of a plan to make MSU an urban farming community that can provide a sustainable food system for the university. Katie is working alongside the Residential Initiative for the Study of the Environment (RISE) to bring these bees to campus. She believes that "we are the generation that gets to make the next big impact" and hopes that by educating her peers about bees and a sustainable lifestyle, this dream can become a reality.
