UPDATE:
LANSING - Lawmakers recently approved a law that will affect autism patients across the state.
This law requires insurance companies to offer coverage for autism patients. This law has failed in the past, but this time a fund was set up to reimburse some insurance companies.
Sarah P. Tietsort, a Chiropractor at Okemos Chiropractic Health Clinic said, "They don't treat autistic patients any differently then any other patient as far as chiropractic coverage goes. Chiropractic though has been shown to really help autistic children in calming down the nervous system which calms down them because autism is an overexcited nervous system."
This law passed with the help of Lieutenant Governor Calley who has a daughter with autism.
