UPDATE: HASLETT, MI - A local author recently wrote a book to bring together Michiganders.

Joyce Benvenuto published her book "A Grand River: Poems for Michigan" this past July.

It features poems about specific locations in Michigan.

There is even a poem in her book about Haslett.

People have been giving her positive feedback about the book.

"And they were really surprised how the book sucked them into this tale of Michigan. So when I get this sort of feedback then I sort of felt like "ok wait a minute, I can do this bigger," said Benvenuto, author of A Grand River.


Bevenuto's next reading will be on December sixth at the Haslett library.
